Guess what I won from NNC...
I got back from Bangkok and collected a few goodies from MW. I missed the stitching bee and thanks to MW, she helped me with distributing some things and collected some for me too. What a lovely surprise! Am I that chatty?
Inside the box was a myriad of crafty goodies and a special gift from Nik. She says it's for teaching her to crochet the tote bag. How sweet! Look at how expertly Nik combines the colours.
I'm definitely using this with my crochet totes. She knows orange is my favourite colour too!!
Cute beading work at the edge. What a brilliant idea to embellish a pouch with beads. Yummy beads, they look like candy on a string.
Inside the box - LOOK AT ALL THE GOODIES. I'm happy as a 6 year old with his surprise pressie!!!

Bookmark Exchange from ROSE!
It's been a totally hectic week. I left for Bangkok the week before (Yes, It was a lovely holiday with my mom! Will blog about that later!!!) and I received a surprise box from Rose the day before, my secret bookmark exchange partner and the sweetest lady I've the privilege to meet. Sorry Rose for putting this up so late...
What's up with the Postoffice service!? The envelope was torn on an edge, resealed back and all crumpled. As if it went around the world and came back to me - only that the mail came from Kelana Jaya! Thank goodness for the plastic wrapping inside.
The goodies inside. Love the colours. Thanks Rose for the yarns (We can never have enough of em!) and the most beautiful bookmarks. And three of them in different styles!!! And a towel with roses embroidered.
Close-up of the beautiful bookmarks. Thanks Rose for the cross stitched bookmark, the fabulous scrapbooking and crocheted/macrame bookmarks!!!

A New Crochet Bag for Tini! | Testing the Afghan Needle
Tini of Snazzy n Such organised a little get together at her new studio/home so that for those who will miss the Bee next week can meet up with Shanny too. (Welcome home Shanny! And have a lovely holiday!!) And Tini had been wanting a crochet bag, so this was a great opportunity for me to improve on my usuall crochet bags. This also takes about 2 days to make. Have a look...
Getting him to hold the tote was not as hard as I thought. LOL!
The flap for the button was a tacky one. Finally a use for the Afghan needle I bought from Macy months ago. Actually found a tutorial on You-tube and it was quite easy to learn. The stitches turned out really nice and even.
Close-up of where I began crocheting the flap for the bag.
Same principles as crocheting. The buttonhole was easier than I thought. Wow! I like my Afghan needle!!!
This bag has a base. I wanted a bag that sits up when you put on the floor.
And to fit a box of three tiered containers for Tini's sewing knick-knacks.
Fits snugly like a bug!
Close-up of the Afghan stitches. Turned out really neat. If I use the same crocheting method for a flat piece, you'll see reversed crochet stitches on alternate lines, but with an Afghan needle it's like knitting all on the front. LOVE THE BUTTON TOO!!!
This is just Nigel, saying Hi! to Everyone!!! I miss him!!! He's gone for church camp with granny this weekend.
