Nigel & Faith's Camporama & Nicky's Homecoming
It was a beautiful day for a trial camp-out for Nigel and his aunts! (Yes, Faith is also his aunt). Thanks to Auntie Josephine's and Grace's brilliant idea, we set out camp right on my grandmother's garden. We had the pool, the tent, toys and even snacks. We even got hosed down by the cheeky monkey! We started at 4pm and played on till around 6 and that was it, mozzies were haunting us and dinner was already being prepared.
Yeap, that's Nigel in his Bob-the-builder underwear, Faith having her snack after gymrama and Grace babysitting the two cute kids. Yee-yee, if you remember we had a swimming pool that was like four times larger and the whole lot of us had some great fun in it. Those were the days!
No camp is complete with snacks, thanks Grace for the Milo and disgestives, I've never seen Nigel eat plain digestive cookies - He only eats chocolate coated ones. He must be really hungry.
That's my grandmother deep frying the chicken for my favourite dish - Lemon Chicken.
Round 1 - As promised, Auntie Josie made delicious Pai-Ti(s), that's top hat in English, it's a savoury dish that looks like a top hat, a wafer thin pastry stuffed with yummy mixture of julienne of vegetables with a dash of special chilli sauce. She also made Sambal Sotong - that's totally hot and hard to describe, Squid in a fury of spices! Mom made Char-Jui, a hokkien dish with dried squid, carrots and turnip. Popo also made my favourite, her lemon chicken is beautifully deepfried and drenched in a delicious citrusy sauce. The ginger and all that caramelised sauce is just incredible.
Glorious, Glorious Cake! Auntie Josie, you've done it again.
Sometimes we do wonder where in Malaysia can you find strawberries this huge and luscious. Must have costed a BOMB.
Oh, yes - we also had belgium chocolate tarts and a wonderful upside-down pineapple cupcake!
Ah! We're so LUCKY.
WELCOME HOME NICKY!
It's his birthday and we get to eat CAKE!
It must be good to be home.
Home is where the heart dwells and where the waistline swells!!!!

Felt pin for Maria
Maria is my June swap buddy and the theme was ' BLUE' and I've been making things for this special friend all the way from Bosnia. I will only post the card and the flower pin I made here, the rest will be posted on my blog later, at least Maria will have the first sight of the gifts first.
Thanks Lynne for a great e-friend!
(The invitation card features a watercolour of the infamous story of the race between the hare and the tortoise - I had a chinese knotted button holding the card together)
A little felt flower pin, surprisingly blue and brown goes together quite well.

Mom, What Is There To Eat?
Recovering fast and eating most of the time, Nigel is putting back on his weight. Today's lunch was Sunday's leftover Hokkien-Mee. My grandmother makes the best hokkien-mee ever and this time she had the real CYC in it! (For those who are not familiar with CYC, it actually is deep fried crunchy lard cubes!!!) Yummy.
In Cupcake heaven. Thank you Auntie Josie for the best chocolate walnut cupcake and delicious melt-in-the-mouth butter cake.
Can't wait for this Sunday's Dessert Extravaganza!
Nicky, you should come home more often - we all get to eat some really incredible desserts (It's not that we've not been spoilt already)!!! WELCOME HOME NICK!!!
Now, Nigel is still hungry...he's asking for ice-cream! Yikes, his stomach is a bottomless pit this whole week.

Nostalgic Photos
I was going through my computer files and storing away loads of work files when I stumbled upon a present I made for my grandparents. They've come a long way and I really love the way they've been together for so long. All the hardship, joy and love they share transcends time and is a testimony to their faith in One God.

The past tense of SPIT is SPOOT!
According to Nigel, he spoot a mouthfull of food out in the bushes at Ah-Tai's house. Haha! Anyway, my poor little lambikin is recovering from food poisoning. I've enough share of vomit and diarrhea (how do you spell that?) to last me a lifetime. Nigel is alright now, he only wants to eat Macoroni and cheese and nothing else. That's a good sign, cause he's not been eating at all for the past 5 days. I've a mind to complain to the authorities, his last meal was KFC and I guess that's our last meal there, ever!
