Moo Cards, Little Amy Butler Dress & Barcelona Themed Cupcakes.

That sums up my very short post for the past three months. More to cover actually, hopefully I do that before end of this year. Sigh!
MOO Cards are what I call bite-sized scrapbooking little treasures. These are teeny tiny cards created for an exchange held among the members of NNC this year. The Theme was Summer. Thanks Janet for organising this!
The mess I get into for these tiny cards. It was my chance to use up some lovely buttons my big sis gave me when she was on a road trip to Bangkok. Thanks Esther for the lovely buttons. It's great to know that I was on your mind when you saw these wonderful summery buttons.
In exchange I receive 4 other beautifully made Moo Cards. Aren't they gorgeous? The different styles will tell you who the artists are. LOL!
I've had this yarn forever and was waiting for an idea to use these precious bamboo yarn my aunt gave me awhile ago. And so happen, I have acquired a few fat quarters of this super gorgeous Amy Butler print from Zarina, that matches the blue beautifully. So Ta...da!

Here's my little model. Crochet top dress.

I just can't get her to standstill for a pose. She loves it so much that she put it on right away and was swirling about like a crazy person.

Caught her! And for a split second!

I even made a teeny button from some leftover scrap.

I also made this for little God daughter. I found this light tule with sparkles all over. A little girl's dream tutu. 1 whole meter, divided into 4 strips. Combine the 3 to make a puffy skirt and the other quarter a giant poofy bow on the right. I am still wanting to make a grey version of this for her. Now to convince Stan to drive me to that cloth shop in the middle of nowhere South of here. Sigh! The grey is really nice.
 BARCELONA THEMED CUPCAKES
These were for Victoria's little celebratory cupcakes for her colleagues.

Remember them black stilettos?

Chocolate Fudge! Roses and laces.

I like the swirls on this one.

Hayley's 2nd Birthday Cake | Hayley Doing The Gangnam Style

Hayley's favourite dance moves captured in a cake! This was in April and the gangnam craze was just so phenomenal that my 2 year old god-daughter mimicked the Korean star to the T. Enjoy!

Hayley on a cake, doing the Gangnam.

Transporting the figurine separately, I had to do the assembly at the restaurant.

Hayley looking all dressed up and so Pweeeety!

Hayley and Kai-Yeh!

Nigel and Joel.

Us Four!
With Popo and Kung-Kung.

With Nie-Nie & Ah Gong.

Smile! Hayley's a model.
Some fun with some Korean fashion! LOL!

Close Up of cake!

Still standing...

It's a cherry bomb cake. Layers of pink vanilla and country cherries in between. Covered in cream cheese. Super Yum!!!!

Did I mention how Hayley LOVES CAKE!!!!

THE MAKING | FONDANT FIGURINE EXPERIMENT

I started with the head. Used a pingpong ball for the form.

I have a picture of Hayley on the side and some fondant model for reference. Adding bits and pieces to form the facial expressions and the hair.

Tendrils of hair and a nice beaded fringe.

Curls for the back and making sure the ears are aligned.
Assembling the body, part by part and supporting it with skewers here and there.

Placed on a styrofoam block, easy to poke the skewers and manouver around when you have a flexi base.

I followed her shoe to the T. That's her favourite pair of Converse.

A little edible glitter to her cheeks. Looks like make up.

A little button on the side. My signature!

Candy pops all over.

Here's to A FANTASTIC 2!!!!

NNC 2013 ANNIVERSARY GATHERING | Pinwheel Patchwork Pillow

Lofty ideas of my house! I made a giant pin keep to house all your sewing things.

'HOUSE' was this year's theme challenge for our crafting group's gift exchange. So besides the usual gift exchange you are required to make something in the theme of a 'House'. And this year's anniversary meet was graciously held at Sabariah's house. Thank you so much for having the whole lot of us!!  I'm trying to catch up on some postings, so this is mostly a photo post. In no particular order, so Enjoy!
The House that Mel Built.
The sides are handstitched and loaded with button embellishments. A great way to use up excess buttons. The door opens up to a few felt pages for pins and needles.
I even have curtains! and crochet flowers on the ledge.
Pockets! Layers of pockets filled with goodies.
Complete with picket fencing and wild flowers. I even added a button catch to keep the pinkeep secure.
A giant pocket for you to stash your work in progress. Secretly I was hoping for Margaret to get this, I know she loves pinkeeps and she does gorgeous cross stitch projects that I thought she could keep her WIPs in here. The power of thought. (You'll see what I mean.)

The main exchange gift was this giant lounge pillow I made. Big enough to support your back while you sew away in your little nook.
Pinwheel patch work on the front and corduroy backing. Not a light pillow, I wanted something sturdy so when you use the pillow it sits firmly and not slide away.
A pincushion to finish off the gift.
Love this strawberry sundae button.
First thing you'll see are the houses we all made.

Goodie Bags!!!

Lot's of em.

Was distracted by this sewing machine cover made by our hostess. Wow!

Skyping with our favourite gal!

Sally showing off her patchworks.
Our resident tatter and book author!

Lot's of gift giving and hugging.

Somemore gifts!

Our youngest member yet!

Kids are not left out.

Nik busy passing out the goodie bags.

I like this photo best! I did not believe my eyes, I told you about the power of thought, right!?
I hope Margaret will enjoy her gifts, her workmanship is superb, so I was a little shy about my finishings.

All the gifts in a row.

We also have a spread of food!

Demos! Love Sally's demo!!!

I seriously need to pick up this next adventure!

Even Aerin wants to start sewing already.

Janet and her hexies.

Tatting with cord. A demo by Faizon.

Blocks of patchwork.
Hope to see you guys soon! Have been crazy busy this couple of months, but will make more effort to come for the next bee. Hugs!!!!
